Few people are unaware of the impact that Apple's Ipod has had on portable music. The ease of use, sound quality, and portability make this device an universal favorite. The overwhelming popularity of the Ipod has given rise to many clever applications for home use.As whole house audio technology has advanced, listening to and controlling your iPod throughout the home has become simpler than ever. With products like the DLO Homedock Deluxe (top right), the iPod can be stationed in a remote location and used as a permanent source for a multi-zone system. Navigating through multiple playlists and thousands of songs is made easy when the iPod's control scheme is accessed through an LED screen keypad or your television.
In-wall iPod docks such as the Channel-Vision I-Bus (bottom right) offer an alternative approach to expanding a home system, utilizing the device as a temporary source for a single zone. When you're ready to remove the iPod, the cradle slides back into the wall to become an inobtrusive face-plate, and the iPod reverts to a portable media player.
Adding iPod functionality to home audio is just one more innovation in a constantly evolving business. As control schemes become increasingly user-friendly, conveniently accessing thousands of songs from one device is an exciting possibility. We keep this in mind whenever we design a system, ensuring that they can be upgraded to accomodate any future modifications.
