Home Visit & Proposal The installation process starts with a home visit. During this visit the customers' needs and desires are accessed and options for achieving them are discussed. Inevitably, a walk-through at the customers' home will suggest applications and modalities that would never come up during a showroom visit. Generally within a week of the home visit, our customer will have a proposal in their hands. The items on the proposal are presented a la carte to enable easy addition or subtraction of specific items. It is rare for a proposal to undergo more than two iterations, and the process is always timely. The proposals are accurate. New Vs Old Home Installation If there are Architects, Builders, Cabinet Makers, Interior Decorators, and Electricians associated with the job, then co-ordinating with them is essential for success. This is generally the case for larger installations or installations which require a lot of construction or demolition. |
In new construction, pre-wiring occurs when the framing is up and the walls are still open -- about the same time the electrician is there. The backbone of the system will be installed at that time. The system itself won't be installed until virtually all other work has been done, including painting and carpeting, in order to protect delicate electronics from the vagaries of the job site. A system that is installed in an existing home often does not require the services of other professionals, and implementation will be wholly within our purview. In existing homes, great care must be taken not to damage or displace the work of other artisans, and to proceed in a timely, non-disruptive and mannerly way. We are accomplished at working in fine, old homes and this type of installation is our specialty. Contact us to schedule a home visit. |
